i declare myself mr sporty

(i really do apologize for the title of this post. but i've seen the slogan on some gay tee and thought i wanted to be perverse enough to put it as title)

a great week for sports.

first up, in hockey champions trophy, spain defeated germany to enter the finals. germany are defending champions and world cup back-to-back winners, but their performance in this tourney is deplorable. school boy mistakes and aimless passing.. it's like.. whatever happened to the world cup winning team of 2006 man? most did not play maybe that's why. haha! and of cos the coach is no longer bernhard peters (the dood whom klinsman wanted to engage as technical advisor for the soccer team during '06 world cup).


viva espana! oh the germs jersey's damn nice..

finals will be between spain and aussie tonight at 10pm. channel 22. please watch.

after that will, of course, be euro finals between germany and spain. as we all know, knodsberry farm has been hanging spanish flag since i started watching soccer. and they have been disappointing me since. hopefully after tonight, the label of 'perennial underachievers' can finally be removed from the likes of torres, xavi, fabregas et al. i like germany as well. in fact they rank 2nd in my list after spain, be it hockey or soccer.

it's gonna be a cracking game tonight!

last but not least..

we pulled a russia yesterday by beating the dutch 3-2 in our league game. they demolished us 7-1 last year. this year, with a new coach and new tactics, the team seemed to have renewed our hunger and passion for the game. also, some positions were switched. i am now playing the 'striker-in-the-hole' role*; i scored the equalizer and provided the winning goal =)


revenge is tweet indeed. woot.

probably the only blemish is.. i haven't played soccer since before i left for scotland.
