hi friends. i just returned from my working trip to find out that one of my college orientation group mate, Fengmin, had passed away 2 days back.

my og was haps, to say the least, as those in the know could attest to that. we were pretty close during those '1st 3 months' and Fengmin would join in many of our activities. as far as i could recall, she was one feisty rgs girl who wouldn't hold back on her comments.

"i've got the most fucked up class ever" was the first thing she said after the release of class allocation.

it's shocking to hear that she had pass on. i'm sure she will be greatly missed by those around her.

i've been playing shitty hockey recently.. due to:

1. i am fucking unfit
2. i have not been training (of any sorts), which explains pt 1
3. and because of pt 2, i have yet to align myself with the new coach's tactics and style
4. i am playing in an entirely new position of striker

no excuses. i need to make time for training at least once a week from now on. season's still in its early stages and i believe i can do better. definitely do not want to let the team and coach down, knowing expectations of me is high.

(i really do apologize for the title of this post. but i've seen the slogan on some gay tee and thought i wanted to be perverse enough to put it as title)

a great week for sports.

first up, in hockey champions trophy, spain defeated germany to enter the finals. germany are defending champions and world cup back-to-back winners, but their performance in this tourney is deplorable. school boy mistakes and aimless passing.. it's like.. whatever happened to the world cup winning team of 2006 man? most did not play maybe that's why. haha! and of cos the coach is no longer bernhard peters (the dood whom klinsman wanted to engage as technical advisor for the soccer team during '06 world cup).

viva espana! oh the germs jersey's damn nice..

finals will be between spain and aussie tonight at 10pm. channel 22. please watch.

after that will, of course, be euro finals between germany and spain. as we all know, knodsberry farm has been hanging spanish flag since i started watching soccer. and they have been disappointing me since. hopefully after tonight, the label of 'perennial underachievers' can finally be removed from the likes of torres, xavi, fabregas et al. i like germany as well. in fact they rank 2nd in my list after spain, be it hockey or soccer.

it's gonna be a cracking game tonight!

last but not least..

we pulled a russia yesterday by beating the dutch 3-2 in our league game. they demolished us 7-1 last year. this year, with a new coach and new tactics, the team seemed to have renewed our hunger and passion for the game. also, some positions were switched. i am now playing the 'striker-in-the-hole' role*; i scored the equalizer and provided the winning goal =)

revenge is tweet indeed. woot.

probably the only blemish is.. i haven't played soccer since before i left for scotland.

a year ago this time, i was in the midst of rushing my final year project.

yups. everyday in the library from say 10am till 11pm. i remembered it was not always productive. literature review was a pain in the ass (i did not have any reference project as a guideline so i had to start typing from scratch); some days i could spend the whole day in the library and all i had was one pathetic line. ok.. it wasn't always productive cos i spent some of the time people watching. lol. or else it'll be really boring. i was lucky to have a really helpful professor as supervisor. he made it compulsory to meet every week and would help me on matlab (which is a darn powerful tool).

a year on, i'm looking at my fyp again. as i browse through.. i thought to myself: how the fuck did i manage to churn this shit out and still manage a distinction?!

and that's when you know that all your hard work hadn't gone to waste. i dare say for once in my life, i really wrecked my cobweb-covered brains over the project. i may never apply what i did for my fyp ever again (unless i go into research) but i'm glad i been through it in retrospect. i concur with what perry said: what sets an engineering degree apart from the others is its fyp. darn difficult"

here's to all my juniors in their final year now losing sleep over fyp: good luck and all the best. i believe that if you put in hard (and smart) work, you'll be surprised at how much you can achieve over this period of time and that all that lost sleep is worth it.

hi.

i just watched sweeney todd: the demon barber of fleet street. loved it. can't go wrong with the combination of tim burton and johnny depp.

just found it interesting they rounded the likes of alan rickman, timothy spall and helena-wassername together in this show. for the uninitiated, they are severus snape, wormtail and bellatrix respectively. if you're still clueless.. i dunno what to say.

it's hilarious rickman's character in sweeney todd is exactly like snape, the way he talks and all.. for a moment i was expecting him to go "avada kedavra!!" or "expelliarmus!". think it'd be pretty funny. haha.

and spall was totally being wormtail.

to end off, i think they should clearly market this show as a musical, rather than, say, like a normal film. i bet some unsuspecting kids (like sam chan) will just walk into the theatre and totally flip when characters start to break out in songs about how they make the 'worst pies in london'. also. i'm glad shaving apparatus have evolved into kinder looking blades as compared to what they were using then. phew.

my (not so) trusty laptop of 4.5years gave up on me on the night of my burfday T_T

and even though i have a 200gig ext hdd connected to it, i hardly perform back up and i lost all my music and photos in it... sigh. so basically the photos u see above are just about all i have now. haha.

to summarise 2007, i graduated and started work. so even though it all happened within the same year, it feels kinda weird cos it was a fucking huge transition. it felt nothing like my internship. this is like.. full blown work. but work's been pretty kind to me so far. the culture is good, my boss is nice and my team pretty close knit. overall it was still a good year la. got good results, job with good pay and made new friends.

well i hope 2008 will be kind to you and i both!

i've been following this year's hockey champions trophy held in kl from nov 29 to 9 dec, and i realised some of the german players were using the newly inaugurated adidas hockey sticks!

this is my current stick. truth to be told i don't really like it cos it's got a real skinny head and that hampers my flicks (too used to fat heads like grays and vijayanti la) =( but well to console myself, it cost me $0 and the adidas seems similarly shaped too.

so 2 days i got an email saying there's supposed to be a meeting today at 12.30pm. my first thought was: wah sian lunch time lor. but it seemed reasonable cos that's prolly the only time meeting rooms are available. and i was stipulated to take minutes. double sian.

12.30pm today - i proceeded up to level 18 and once i stepped into the meeting room...

"happy birthday to you! happy birthday to you!......"

i saw a cake with a lighted candle on it and pizzas and yummy food on the table!! wow! i was totally unsuspecting! even in hindsight, i couldn't spot any loophole in their scheming ploy and i'm usually very alert when it comes to things like this haha!

duped. like. totally.

i made 2 wishes and then cut the cake. we gobbled up the food in no time. nice.

let's talk about religion.

got your attention?

this holiday season seem to herald a wave of fantasy, mgm-esque, films the likes of 'stardust', 'enchanted' and 'the golden compass'. as the genre intrinsically suggests, events taking place in the films do not happen in our world (well i certainly hope not. giant bears and wicked witches? eew.), and themes deviate astronomically from reality. earthly beings are naturally intrigued by the unknown and everything mythical; i.e. to say fantasy films always do well with the audience. perfect entertainment material.

you see i had to spend some time defining 'fantasy film' because obviously some group of people have no idea what it means. i was minding my own business one fine day, seeping tea, reading the papers and basically living the high life when i heard over the news that a certain 'catholic league' has called for a boycott of 'the golden compass'. that triggered my bullshit detector immediately, à la da vinci code, and i promptly punched the next short fart that came along.

so i took a sabbatical (of about 15 minutes) to read up on the 'golden compass controversy' and, no surprises, the head honcho of that certain catholic league made the following claims:

1) the show "denigrates christianity".

don't they love the word 'denigrate'. lol. da vinci code? denigrating. golden compass? you guessed it, denigrating. why does it always seem that shows only 'denigrate' christianity? it's puzzling.. does christianity advocate one to be narrow-minded? this film is a literary work. a fiction. get it? fiction. if christians are going to let a film (or novel for that matter) about giant bears and magical compasses belittle their faith and beliefs, then they aren't built on that strong a foundation isn't it?

enough of rhetorics and let's set the record straight: watching a film does not mean you are supporting the author; in fact it will be useful to be kept abreast of what people other than your religious beliefs are thinking. if i am a true christian, i would watch the film with an open mind and for pure entertainment purpose. any attempted 'brainwashing' would make me more resolute in my beliefs and faith based on inconsistencies and flaws (if any) in the show, hence negating any influence it might have on me. heck it might even be a good chance to introduce a non-believer to my religion! gosh i am so smart.

2) the show "promotes atheism for kids".

wow. bullshit has a new benchmark in that statement. by making that statement, the honcho is putting 'atheism' on the same serving plate as 'murder', 'rape', 'robbery' and 'violence'. since when has being an atheist (someone who does not believe in the existence of gods) equate to being immoral?! it's common to hear people saying that a particular show promotes violence, crime and smoking; or those that sensationalises many modern acts of human debauchery. fair enough. but arguing your case to boycott a show by claiming it "promotes atheism"? let me tell you something, if atheism was a religion (i know it's an oxymoron but i'm just putting things in pespective) that statement would mean "this is spartaaaaaaaa!!" right away. because technically speaking, that statement affirms the 'immorality' of atheism (why else would they employ it as a reason to boycott the show then?). it would not be dissimilar to saying "let's boycott the show because it promotes *insert your religion*".

i believe in the right of choice and if some people choose not to believe in gods, so be it. perhaps religion is just not their cup of tea and that should not be wrong and judged upon. even if the show manages to turn someone away from becoming a christian, or sway a believer, it is their god damn (lol i'm so witty) choice and definitely nothing immoral.

these people are not going to hell just because they're not part of the churches' targeted demographics.

(i just opened a can of worms with the above statement but i shall leave it till next time. the title of that post can be "why do good doing, kind, honest and upright non-believers go to hell anyway")

let me end off by saying.. this is just a movie for pete's sake and not a religious teaching, let alone heresy. i dont claim to be an anti-thesis of religion and neither am i exhibiting religious bigotry. i just feel that there are more important things for the churches to worry about (pedophile priests, money absconding etc) before they dabble in movie critics. they'll probably have more reasons to panic when they see people travelling with giant bears attached to them. when i see that i'll worry too.

damn. religious dogmata and coercion just pisses the shit outta me.

amidst this controversy, the likely winner will still be the box office. christians, non-christians and neutrals will be flocking to see if this film lives up to the hype of being 'anti-christianity'. negative publicity is still publicity. initially i was sceptical about catching the show, now i'm all for it. look who's having the last laugh.

p.s. i watched stardust weeks back and personally, i'm offended by the show because it denigrates my beliefs that pirates are manly heroes and pirate ships belong to the sea, as opposed to what's depicted in the film (of flying pirate ships and a gay pirate chief).

hi guys, i would like to share with you a dream i had last night.

i laid in bed, arms behind my head and thought of issues as i would normally do when i'm in bed. suddenly i heard a ruffling sound from my windows. startled, i opened my eyes and scanned the room. at the corner of my left eye i saw a minature monkey.

it looked abit like curious george, and about the size too (9"), just way sinister with sharp teeth and alot hairier. try to picture that.

i suppose it just made it's way through my window. surprisingly i wasn't that shocked. so i went up to my window.

then from nowhere the damn monkey started to scold me.

"you killed my mother! you will pay for this!"

i was like "when the fuck did i kill your mother you fucking monkey!"

interestingly i retorted as if we had already been in a heated argument.

"you'll pay for this! i'll kill you on sunday!" and these were the monkey's last words before he lept out of my window.

so i told my mother and sister about this incident (i have no idea why i would tell them). and we laid a plan to trap the monkey when it returns on sunday. there was no mention of the technicalities involved in building the 'trap' but it basically revolved around my windows.

come sunday the three of us were waiting on my bed for the miniature monkey to turn up. somehow we were rather eager about it. we then heard the same ruffling sound. true to it's words the monkey turned up. knowing it's been trapped, the monkey try to burrow it's way out of the window, albeit unsuccessfully. the irony of this is: it came to kill me. and now it's trying to escape. then again dreams don't make no sense.

the final battle ensued.

"i'm gonna keel you."

i picked up my new hockey stick (heheheheh) and got into battle stance. quick as a flash the monkey jumped onto my stick and my first thoughts "oh no don't dirty my new stick". at this point we were in the living room. i don't know how.

i shaked my stick up and down but i must stress, in a very innocuous manner. the monkey flipped, not dissimilar to them olympic gymnasts, and landed head first onto a plate of rice. clear liquid started flowing out from it's head followed by fresh red viscous blood.

"mummy ah! go and clear up the mess lei!"

i then saw my friend and commented that her hair is nice.

to start off, i started work on monday and surely i could go on rambling about how it is possible for me to see so many recognisable faces in a certain defence tower on this island; many may argue that this is the hackneyed "how my first week of work went" post, but technically i reckon it's more of what happened outside my working hours.

on tuesday i played a shitty game of hockey where 2 of my teammates got sent off. totally wtf..

on thursday after knocking off, i squeezed into the train at redhill and stood next to a man talking on his bluetooth set (which was about 2/3 the size of his ear). a young girl on the blind side of the man stared at him as though she'd seen a ghost in this deadly month of july (chinese calender that is). she must be like "why the fuck is this man talking to himself"

ah the importance of technology education. i believe the young girl is scarred and violated for life.

transiting to a bus back to knodsberry farm, a lady, say 40+ years old, sat opposite me. she was fucking talking to herself. i checked for any miniature or hidden bluetooth set and there was none. siao char bor.

while still on the bus, my attention shifted to another lady, say 60+ years old. she was cursing a poor soul over the phone and the whole bus could prolly hear her. and yet her colourful language and unique permutations of several illustrious hokkien phrases flowed nonchalantly, almost elegantly. this could probably be rivalled only by knoddy himself.

and then tgif, meaning dress-down day! woot. you can't imagine my joy at being able to wear jeans and my sneakers, which are like so damn flat compared to them heels.

i met 1/3 of a certain triplets for lunch. let's call him zhuang (yeah we both work for the same company). and then tall fucker, who was there for a talk, joined us. after work i had to hit town to meet a friend.

i waited for 40 minutes for the bus. cheebye.

ok i think i dozed off at the bus stop while waiting but i swear i couldn't have missed the bus coming. upon reaching town, due to a gross and unfortunate incident, or some might call it "unforeseen circumstances", i did not meet my friend. so i decided to go home when i saw zhuang crossing the road towards my side. at first thought i was like "how come he changed to formal wear after work?"

it was actually another 1/3 of the certain triplets. let's call him shao. we didn't talk for long as he was rushing to borders and i had to cross the road haha.

i thought i might complete the hat-trick at bukit batok mrt, the nearest station to their place, but i didn't.

now i'm home for the weekend to sit back and take a chill pill or two. but i have games on both saturday and sunday..

a trip down nostalgia lane

yesterday was a good day; cos it was the day i went back to my alma mater. the last i entered the school if i remember correctly, was in 1999 to collect my 'o' level results. holy cow. 'o' levels.

xianyi asked if i'm interested to see the 155th anniversary parade and since i had nothing on, i agreed. i wasn't too interested in the parade proper cos it's basically army-esque. uniformed groups and all. boring shit. but the whole notion of going back to reminiscence seemed cool.

and so i reached malcom road.

neat.

surreal it was, walking pass the gates and towards the field. the chills down my spine really kicked in when the emcee announced "let us remember, always, that we're in the holy presence of god...." man! i haven't heard this opening invocation for prayers since, well i graduated. after the routine prayer, the parade started.

it being saturday, the real deal (ndp rehearsal) was happening concurrently at marina bay. the timing of the national flag fly past was so damn in sync with our parade, that i swore the pilots were prolly old boys or something.

nice.

the most fun part of the parade was singing the school anthem and reciting the josephian pledge. uber nostalgic. we walked around the school compound after the parade ended which included our old classroom, the performing arts centre and chapel etc.

our iconic chapel. really brings back memories of mornings and events mass last time. i wished i could take photos of the interior but reckoned it would be pretty rude. it's the perfect place to hold your wedding ceremony if you're catholic.

mr sirhan our physics teacher remembered that we were from 4a7 too! and after talking cock for awhile, he went "now i definitely remember you la desmond. your perverted smile and all!" nahbei. according to him, since 2006 all sec 3 and 4 boys were doing pure sciences in sji and 6-7 classes out of 12 are doing triple science. wtf so smart the kids nowadays?!

it's amazing how our teachers remembered us, let alone bro mike who did not even taught us per se (unless you consider sex education. haha that's bro mike for you).

after training today i went up to nie's multi-purpose court where them girls were having ivp netball finals.

by the time we got up, the final whistle had already blown and well, we lost by a margin of 10 goals. i'm not sure how they count the scores in this game but i'm quite sure it ain't like rugby or basketball. so.. yeah lost but as far as i know, they were defending champs for like 10 11 years. it certainly didn't seem like the case cos some of them subs were at the sideline joking and laughing with them butches. the playing team didn't seem too upset either.

i don't know about you guys but if limpei were on the losing side, failing to defend the crown for 10 11 years, i'll be pretty darn sad. so much for passion huh girls? why don't you stick to painting nails?

okies as promised, photo whoring. alot of them had been posted before but what the heck. first up will be a lil' something to my hockey days since year 1 in ntu. holy shit it's been 3 years and counting! to think i almost wanted to quit after attending my first training, then went on to become vice-captain and captain. amazing stuff.

2003/2004

my first year of ivp, not a successful campaign as we didn't have a coach, and the team was pretty messy at that point of time. in hindsight it was quite a waste cos' we had a few real good players in their final year. ironically this was also when the girls' team saw their highest membership to date.

also during this time, a teammate was lost in an accident. we know he's in better hands now.

2004/2005

so knoddy boy was named vice-captain. this season saw the introduction of a few familiar ac boys and players from schools with established hockey history like rj, aj and vj. so yeah it was a strong team plus we had a good coach. the result: third in ivp, ousting nus to forth.

alas! it was also gonna be the last ivp. bittersweet indeed.

technically it was kinda like singapore vs malaysia. usm of penang visited ntu for the nanyang games and we played host to them. it was the first time we had the strongest 11 starting the game thus it was an evenly matched game. we lost 2-4 but the feeling was great playing against the malaysians.

let me talk abit about this inter-hall thing.

so we played and won our second game today. but that's not the point. i was supporting 7 in their game against 10 who had kelvin and colin, national and school player respectively. but i think 7 played damn well. much much better then when i was with them and deserved the win. that's good to see, really.

was kinda disappointed when i gave the thumbs up sign to najip at the end of the game, and he seemed to acknowledge it unwillingly. oh well maybe he still holds a grudge against me shifting to 3, fiercest rivals.

the last thing i remembered vividly was cakes well, bringing in marilyn's birthday cake. after that i poured garguantan amounts of chivas and drank it neat, and then a couple more; partly the reason why i could only remember last night in snapshots.

snapshots include:

serving the cakes to some peeps in the corner, but they were too good and cool for the lowly cake. fuckers were only interested in smoking their weed so whatevs.

wenyan doing his shit again, this time round the melbourne shuffle which looked more like psychomotor spasm then anything else. was spouting fucking nonsense the whole night which was hilarious of course. the last i heard, he asked an anonymous girl for a blowjob. wenyan at parties = fun.

first time i see marilyn being a sport when it comes to drinking, which of course mean it's the firs time i see her so drunk but enjoying herself of course. happy birthday again you lil' punk.

marilyn's good friend's brother-in-law opened more than $5k worth of bottles. crazy shit. by that time i was only happy the drinks were streaming in like water running out from a tap so.. woot.

holy shit, exams are over meaning it's time for soccer and more soccer.. and hockey trainings maybe?

lol it sure feels weird not knowing anything about trainings and whatnots but of course i'm sure the new captain will inform us duly when training starts. i need to get my form back. now that the captain tag ain't on me anymore, there's no reason for me not to perform my best from now on. the only concern of course is the lack of tournaments and games for us to play. perhaps the upcoming national 8s in feb could be a source of motivation..

but if that's not gonna even happen for one reason or another, we can just suck each other's cock.

oh there's this lil' thing called fyp as well. damn i really needa start typing those scribblings out if not it's all gonna pile up on me as the deadline approaches. i've built quite an awesome rapport with my prof and he seems ok with what i've done so far. gotta keep'em up or get fuctub naahmeeen.

back to what we enjoy most here at mssdotcom, i am pretty fucking irritated by the lack of futsal courts in singapore. and when i say futsal courts i don't mean those with waist-level goal post and walls surrounding it. those courts are lame. with the construction that's going on in nus src now, options seem limited. the situation is fucking dire. why are there so few proper futsal courts with proper nice sweet goal posts in this country?!

What's preposterous my friends, and i'm sure this strikes a chord with all football lovers, is the abundance of god damn basketball courts. yes basketfuckingball courts springs up like mama shops in every estate. it doesn't take a heartlander to know how many million basketball courts there are in a town, let alone the whole of this island.

so anyway.. yes. without fail, almost de rigueur, basketball courts have to be built in all towns, which is a phenomenon i cannot fathom. more often than not, we have lil' kids running/skate-scootering around or some mats kicking their footie around rather then proper basketballers. fuck i've even seen families playing badminton on the courts.

so why can't they build more futsal courts instead of just peppering basketball courts all around. beats me. i'm not really into the basketball scenes but if the singapore team ain't rubbing shoulders with the likes of dwayne wade i'm gonna slit the throat of the next fat fuck i see.

off-hand i can think of at least 5 basketball courts that are within walking distance from my home, and the only futsal court outside of schools i can think of is the one at telok blangah.

yay! it's the weekend. even though exams are just 20 days away, i'm indifferent in a pretty positive way. started 'klub a'-ing with mav this week and actually did some work. so i guess that explains why i ain't feeling too fucky (though i'm still in school on a friday night). of course there are much more work to be done; design project report, another biomaterials assignment, biomechanics quiz to study for next week, 2 minor reports and like 83754 tutorials.

last week vietkong was in the library frantically preparing for the dreaded fluids dynamics quiz. this module had been much demonised by them seniors, claiming it's the module that's gonna flunk your final year. much akin to heat transfer, whatever. i don't see the big fucking deal about the quiz, but back in the room;

finally managed to set up my wireless connection at home, after troubleshooting it from 11pm to 6am on friday night. tech-no-logic is such a bitch but wireless kicks serious ass woot. met the tall fucker for dinner at vivocity on saturday. it's a mad place but lots of shopping can be done. maybe i'll take some pictures the next time i go there.

sunday soccer was the usual shit. we're playing 'competitive' nowadays and that's exactly my cup of tea. whole hearted tackles, proper tactics, playing for the team rather than individual gratification, all this to avoid getting knocked out and having to wait until we can play again on the court. seen some improvements in the bizad boys which is good.. but there's a long way to go before we can more or less dominate, meaning the inept players must make way for the good players(who should start coming more often!). roar.

so. last saturday was the dutch club 6s a.k.a wooden shoe. this annual (or bi-annual i'm not sure) carnival held at hockey village is hosted by hollandse club singapore, in a bid to celebrate the dutch community here and to gather hockey players of all nationality in singapore for a beery festival of fun and games.

berry indeed as free flow of heineken started from 1pm.

the atmosphere was great, though not literally cos the peesai index went up to as high as 150 that day. however that didn't dampen the carnival spirits. the matches went on as usual and it was great to see the likes of good ol' hockey pals like prabs and them raffles asses namely minghao, noel 'robben' etc.

endteeyew sent in 2 teams for this tournament as a form of 'reward' for the players who played in the league and it officially ends our trainings until after exams. this 6s is played on turf the size of about a street soccer court. pretty effing small comparing to that of a normal game. therefore the pace is cut throat with profuse sprintings up and down the pitch.

moving on to the performance of the 2 teams, after much hype and expectations of the blue team to do well (cos coach and manager grouped what seemed to be the 'best' team on paper together), we didn't even get past the group stage. after winning the dutch club in our first game, we lost the remaining 3 group games... =(

the red team was commendable though. keeper weejin and colin were on their top form that day; they won 3 games and lost just one in their group. in the quater finals, the reds lost narrowly to spore indian's association with a score of 2-3. but they played well.. in some sense more disciplined and spirited than the blue team i felt.

after the finals were being played, the lucky draw commenced. i was chilling outside the pitch with rilani holding on to our stack of lucky draw tickets. most of the guys and girls team had left so we just held on to the tickets.

guess what. 2 of my stack of 10 tickets were winners! first was this set of wooden shoe, holland-esque set of mugs. quite cute.

not much use for them though.

a few prizes later came the mazon stick bag. rely was moaning how much she wanted it and was disappointed at not seeing the number called at her stack. but knoddy boy on the other hand was just browsing through his tickets and viola! the winning ticket caught his eye. i gave the ticket to rely and she went up to collect the stick bag cos she wanted it so badly. haha.

dinner was not bbq as what they claim, but catered food. it ain't too bad though but there wasn't much variety.

all in all, a day of fun! =)

let me officially declare this as the slackest one-week break in my 7 semesters of endteeyew woot! ill-discipline has always been my forte, no qualms about it, but the lack of study kakis would be the main excuse why i just wouldn't drag myself to the library; especially when i'm like staying in the new hall.

i don't understand why we were told to take down the flags when we hung them outside our windows. weird-ass hall officers.

still on the topic of bbq, last friday was the justin's place thingy (indeed the event can be named after his place) but it wasn't just typical bbq and then fuckoff kinda shit. justiner's mum was away from town and that meant his house was available! after the bbq we went up to his cosy corner (fast east siao!). marilyn aka our prima donna wasted no time and started jioing people for texas holdem. while some of us were just chillaxing with the isqueeze, winning eleven, light sabers and whatnots.

damn fun night. all of us stayed till 5 plus 6 on saturday morning. all gatherings should be of this calibre man. great way to end the recess. =)

after one and a half faithful years, yours truly knoddy boy have finally handed over the captain's armband, or rather captains's ribbon lol.

phew it's been a real fulfiling experience. sometimes it's so fucking tiring having to control the team and yet play my own game at the same time; but most of the times it feels awesome just leading the team, winning games etc. whoop dee doo!

kudos to the team for supporting captain knoddy for the past year and a half. i've tried my best, learning as i go along and hopefully you guys liked what i've done =)

i wanna thank vice captain khairul; though burdened by work, fyp and kronik injuries, he tries his best to come for games and on the pitch his work rate is undeniable.

perry, my second vice-captain was of great help too. he'll remain as vc for the coming year and i'm sure he'll continue to do well.

all the best to captain kokyew, vice-captains perry and sam in leading the team from here on. i'm sure coach, manager and myself have made the right decisions in choosing you guys.

it's been an incredible sporting year for deutschland.

first and foremost we witnessed one of the most successfully organised soccer world cup in june. with an aptly designated slogan 'a time to make friends', world cup 2006 saw footballing fans from all over the world gather for a common cause. those without tickets weren't entirely disappointed as giant screens were placed outside at the venues, creating an almost identical atmosphere, akin to being in stadium itself. to top that up, match venues were transformed into bustling cities of beer, bratwurst and fancy costumes. it's almost like a ritualistic festival

footballing-wise, germany proved critics wrong by efficiently and ruthlessly finishing opponents off. less the disappointment of ballack, players the likes of torsten frings, bastian schweinsteiger, philipp lahm and miroslav klose impressed tremendously.

unbeknownst to many i suspect, the recently concluded hockey world cup was held in germany as well. in a competition consisting of the 12 of the world's best hockey teams, germany played australia in the finals and won with an enthralling 4-3 scoreline. the defending champions overcame the world number one to become only the second nation after pakistan to win consecutive world cups. this victory lifts them to the top of the world hockey rankings ahead of the aussies.

earlier, spain won korea in the 3rd/4th place playoff with a score of 3-2. a golden goal scored within the first minute of extra-time ensured a bronze medal for the spaniards. well something to cheer about given the nation's recent disappointment at the soccer world cup.

hi guys. this is a picture taken at the recent assbee niner bbq. as you can see there were only 6 of us but we bought enough food for like twice the number? lol.
